20 of the 40 slots for Apex Legends ENC 2026 have been confirmed

The Apex Legends competition at the Esports Nations Cup 2026 (ENC) will feature 40 teams, each representing a different country or territory.

The official ENC website lists 20 ranking-based Direct Invites. The official Apex Legends Esports account on X announced the 20 eligible countries and territories in the post above.

What has been confirmed at this stage is a Finals berth for each of those 20 countries and territories. The players and national rosters that will represent them will be determined by the regional online qualifiers.

ENC Finals Qualification Spots

  • Guaranteed Representation:20 slots (Finals berths secured for 20 countries and territories)
  • Regional Online Qualifiers:18 slots
  • Wildcard:2 slots
  • Total:40 slots

Guaranteed Representation guarantees a place in the ENC Finals for 20 countries and territories based on ALGS Year 6 Championship Points. The guarantee applies to the country or territory itself; it does not mean that a specific professional team or group of players automatically advances to the Finals.

Apex Legends ENC 2026 Teams and National Rosters

The 20 countries and territories with Guaranteed Representation have now been officially confirmed. National team players and their current teams or organizations will be added after the regional online qualifiers conclude.

The remaining 20 slots will be allocated as follows: 18 from the regional online qualifiers, and one each from the Host Region Slot and the Solidarity Slot.

The Host Region Slot is awarded to the highest-placing country or territory among GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) member states that have not yet qualified for the Finals through the standard qualification routes. The Solidarity Slot is awarded to a country or territory that is underrepresented at the ENC Finals, based on an assessment of factors such as qualifier results, competitive strength, and regional representation.

The 20 Countries and Territories Guaranteed a Finals Slot

Broken down by qualifier region, the 20 countries and territories with Guaranteed Representation include nine from EMEA, five from APAC South, four from the Americas, and two from APAC North.

For each guaranteed country or territory, the highest-placing eligible roster in the regional online qualifiers will advance to the ENC Finals as its national team.

In other words, countries and territories such as Japan and the United States have already secured a Finals berth, but the players who will claim it are determined through the qualifiers.

18 Teams Advancing Through the Regional Online Qualifiers

In addition to the 20 Guaranteed Representation slots, 18 more countries and territories will qualify for the ENC Finals based on regional online qualifier results. These additional slots go to the highest-placing eligible rosters from countries and territories that do not already have Guaranteed Representation.

EMEA9 slots
Americas6 slots
APAC South3 slots
APAC NorthNo additional slots

Even if multiple teams from the same country or territory finish near the top, only one team from each country or territory may advance to the ENC Finals. Countries and territories with Guaranteed Representation are excluded from the 18 additional slots. EA will review the standings in each regional qualifier from top to bottom and award the remaining slots to the highest-placing eligible teams from different countries and territories without Guaranteed Representation.

Regional Qualifier Teams

The 18 teams advancing through the regional online qualifiers will be confirmed after all regional qualifiers conclude on August 3, 2026. Confirmed countries and territories and their national rosters will be added to the table below as they are announced.

The eligible country or territory, national roster, and specific announcement date for the Host Region Slot have not yet been announced. Applications for the Solidarity Slot are open until August 16, 2026, with final decisions expected by the end of August.

What to Look for in the National Rosters

ENC national teams are not simply existing professional teams rebranded as country representatives. Each national roster must follow ENC-specific composition rules.

Three to Four Players Representing the Same Country or Territory

Each team consists of three or four eligible players representing the same country or territory. Teams may also register one non-playing coach.

Up to Two Players from the Same ALGS Roster

A national team may include no more than two players from the same ALGS Year 6 Split 1 Pro League roster. This means that an existing professional team’s full lineup cannot enter unchanged as a national team.

Players who usually compete for different teams may come together to represent the same country or territory, creating an ENC-exclusive “dream team.”

Current Team Affiliations Also Matter

A country or territory and a list of player names alone do not reveal what makes a roster distinctive.

Looking at each player’s current team or organization, ALGS role, and international experience makes it easier to understand the roster’s strengths and the reasoning behind its composition.

Once the national rosters are confirmed, this article will also list each player’s current team or organization.

Who Will Represent Japan?

Japan is one of the 20 countries and territories that have officially secured a Finals berth through Guaranteed Representation. However, the players who will represent Japan have not yet been determined.

The APAC North online qualifiers will determine the ENC representatives for Japan and the Republic of Korea. The highest-placing eligible roster from each country will earn the right to represent it at the ENC Finals.

APAC North has no additional Finals slots for countries or territories outside Guaranteed Representation. This means that the qualifier is held solely to determine the national rosters for Japan and the Republic of Korea. The final day of the ENC APAC North Online Qualifiers is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. JST on August 3, 2026.

The official ENC Team Japan page lists the National Team Partner, National Team Manager, and supporting organizations. These details describe the structure supporting Japan across the ENC as a whole; they do not identify the national roster for the Apex Legends competition.

National Teams to Watch

The official ENC website cites the United States, Japan, Australia, Great Britain, and the People’s Republic of China as examples of countries and territories where world-class rosters compete for national team spots.

That said, when considering the favorites to win the championship, you can’t base your judgment solely on individual players’ track records. It’s also important to consider how well players—who normally compete for different professional teams—can build chemistry with one another in such a short period of time.

  • Does the roster include players with a high number of ALGS Championship Points?
  • Does it include players with international tournament experience?
  • Do the players’ roles complement one another?
  • Have any of the players competed together before?
  • How well does the roster reflect its region’s playstyle?

Simply assembling famous players does not necessarily create a strong team. Just as important as who was selected is why these three or four players came together. That is one of the most interesting ways to follow the ENC.

When will the participating teams be finalized?

The main schedule and status of confirmations are as follows.

If the regional qualifiers conclude as scheduled and the official results are published promptly, 38 participating countries and territories and their national rosters are expected to be known around August 4, 2026. The date when all 40 teams are finalized will depend on the official announcement of the remaining two wildcard slots.

A New Era of Apex Legends, Shaped by 40 Countries and Territories

Up until now, the "Apex Legends" competitive scene has primarily focused on which pro team would win.

At the ENC, players who normally compete under different team banners will come together to represent the same country or territory. Unlike teams that have spent years building chemistry, they must develop new roles and strategies within a limited amount of time.

Will a country packed with star players simply win? Or will a well-rounded roster defy the pre-tournament predictions?

The first 20 countries and territories are now set. Next, the players who will represent them will be decided. Once all 40 teams and national rosters are known, the true story of ENC 2026 will begin to take shape.
