On August 4, 2026, following the conclusion of the regional online qualifiers for the Apex Legends competition, the Esports Nations Cup (ENC) announced 39 teams and their national rosters for the 2026 tournament.
The announcement confirmed the rosters representing the 20 countries and territories with Guaranteed Representation, the 18 countries and territories that advanced through the regional online qualifiers, and Saudi Arabia, which secured the Host Region Wildcard.
As a result, 39 of the 40 slots for the 2026 tournament had been confirmed prior to the postponement. The remaining slot was planned as a Solidarity Slot, to be selected by ENC through a review process.

The 18 spots to be filled through regional online qualifiers and the single Host Region Wildcard spot had already been determined for the 2026 tournament. The Host Region Wildcard was awarded to Saudi Arabia, which had the highest qualifying performance among the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) member states that had not secured a spot in the main tournament through the regular qualification process.
The remaining spot was planned as the Solidarity Slot. It was designed for countries and territories that were underrepresented in the ENC main event, with selection based on factors such as competitive performance in the qualifiers, regional representation, and future growth potential. Applications closed in mid-August 2026, and prior to the postponement, the final selection results were scheduled to be announced at the end of August. In each eligible country and region, the team that placed highest among the qualified rosters representing that country or region in the online qualifiers earned the right to compete in the ENC Finals for the 2026 tournament. As officially announced on August 4, 2026, the representative rosters for all 20 eligible countries and regions had been determined.
In other words, countries and territories such as Japan and the United States had already secured Finals slots, but their representatives were determined by the highest-finishing eligible roster from each country or territory in the regional online qualifiers.

Even if multiple teams from the same country or territory finished near the top, only one team per country or territory could advance to the ENC Finals. Countries and territories with Guaranteed Representation were excluded from the 18 additional slots. EA reviewed the regional qualifier standings from the top down and allocated the slots to different countries and territories without Guaranteed Representation.
Regional Qualifier Teams
From the regional online qualifiers, nine countries and regions from EMEA, six from the Americas, and three from APAC South secured spots in the ENC Finals for the 2026 tournament. The representative players from each country and region are listed in the roster of participating teams and representatives in the first half of this article.

Two Wildcard Slots Announced for the 2026 Tournament
For the 2026 tournament, the final two spots out of a total of 40 teams were scheduled to be determined through a wild-card process administered by ENC. Of these, the Host Region Wildcard was awarded to Saudi Arabia, and the remaining spot was designated as the Solidarity Slot.

Saudi Arabia secured the host region slot because, among the GCC member states that had not qualified for the main tournament through the standard qualification process, it achieved the best results in the regional online qualifiers.

What to Look for in the National Rosters
The national rosters announced for the 2026 tournament were not simply existing professional teams rebranded as national teams. They were subject to ENC’s own roster composition rules. The following rules had been announced for the 2026 tournament prior to its postponement.
Three to Four Players Representing the Same Country or Territory
Under the rules announced for the 2026 tournament, each team consisted of three or four eligible players representing the same country or territory and could also register one non-playing coach.
Up to Two Players from the Same ALGS Roster
A national team could include no more than two players from the same ALGS Year 6 Split 1 Pro League roster. This meant that an existing professional team’s full lineup could not compete unchanged as a national team.
Players who usually compete for different teams may come together to represent the same country or territory, creating an ENC-exclusive “dream team.”

Japan’s Apex Legends National Team Announced [For the 2026 Tournament]
On August 4, 2026, 4rufa, Mike, and Axis were officially announced as Japan’s national roster for the Apex Legends competition.
The three players competed in the APAC North Online Qualifier under the name “REJECT DIVISION.” The roster combined 4rufa and Axis from REJECT with Mike from ZETA DIVISION.
Eighteen Japanese teams and two Korean teams advanced to the finals of the APAC North Qualifiers. While Korea’s “melting face” won the overall tournament, REJECT DIVISION finished in second place and, as the highest-ranked Japanese team, secured the right to represent Japan. They recorded a total of 41 kills across six matches.

The three players—4rufa, Mike, and Axis—earned the right to compete in the ENC Finals as members of the Japanese national team for the 2026 tournament. However, it has not yet been announced whether this national team roster will carry over to the 2027 tournament.
Notable National Teams Announced for the 2026 Tournament
The 39 national rosters announced for the 2026 tournament revealed how each country and territory had assembled its lineup.
ENC’s official announcement particularly highlighted Australia’s roster of Genburten, Zer0, and Wxltzy.
