Canada’s leading game developer and publisher, Behaviour Interactive Inc., has announced a collaboration between the asymmetrical survival horror game Dead by Daylight and AMC’s hit TV series,The Walking DeadAnnounced collaboration.

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game where one Killer faces off against four Survivors. The Killer’s goal is to sacrifice the Survivors, while the Survivors must escape from the Killer.

Each Killer has unique abilities and traits, with crossover Killers from titles such as Resident Evil and Tokyo Ghoul. Survivors also have their own unique perks, and the game has featured collaborations withStranger Thingsand actor Nicolas Cage.

Each Killer and Survivor comes with three unique perks. In addition, there are universal perks that any character can use. Players choose four perks to equip before entering a match.
In this collaboration, two Survivors—Rick GrimesandMichonne Grimeswill be added.Daryl Dixonwill also appear as an alternate outfit for Rick. Additionally, the in-game map “Garden of Joy” will be reworked with a Walking Dead-themed design.
The full implementation of the Dead by Daylight × The Walking Dead collaboration is scheduled for July 30, 2025. Ahead of this, the PTB (Public Test Build) began on July 9 via Steam.

Rick Grimes
In The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes has survived even the harshest situations. As a former sheriff's deputy, Rick is known for his strong sense of justice and morality, often taking on a leadership role within his group.
Rick sacrifices himself to save his friends and, as a result, is drawn into the Fog—the world of Dead by Daylight. His extensive survival skills make him a reliable ally in the Fog, and his natural leadership is reflected in his three unique perks.

After unlocking or rummaging through 2 chests, press Ability button 1 while standing next to a broken pallet for 8 seconds to create a fragile pallet.
You can see the aura of broken pallets within a (24/28/32) meter radius. Fragile pallets break once dropped.

After rescuing another Survivor from a hook, while crouched and stationary, press Ability button 1 to make all injured or dying Survivors within 24 meters leave no scratch marks or blood trails for (10/12.5/15) seconds.
You let out a scream, revealing your aura to the Killer for 5 seconds.

When you are injured and another Survivor within 24 meters stuns or blinds the Killer with a pallet, your grunts of pain, scratch marks, and blood pools are reduced by 100% for (20/25/30) seconds.
Michonne Grimes
Michonne, Rick’s partner and a former lawyer in The Walking Dead, is brave and compassionate. Even in the most hopeless situations, she never wavers in her convictions. After Rick sacrificed himself and vanished, Michonne continued to believe he was still alive somewhere.
One day, while searching for Rick, she heard his voice coming from beyond the black fog. Following the sound, she eventually found herself in the Realm of the Fog. Her battle-hardened survival instincts, forged through countless brushes with death, are reflected in her three unique perks.

After healing a Survivor and restoring at least 25% of their dying state, press Ability button 2 to instantly bring them back to their feet.
They gain the Broken status effect, and after (20/25/30) seconds, they will enter the dying state again.

After remaining inside the Killer’s terror radius without being chased for (80/70/60) seconds, perform a fast vault to stun the Killer if they are within 2.5 meters.
After activation, this perk becomes disabled for the rest of the trial.
- Teamwork: Throw Down（チームワーク：挑戦）

When you stun or blind the Killer with a pallet, all injured Survivors within 24 meters gain Endurance and can see the Killer’s aura for (6/8/10) seconds.
Daryl Dixon (Rick’s alternate skin)
Daryl Dixon, a tough former drug dealer,will be implemented as a Legendary Skin for Rick..
The voices of Rick and Darylfeature original voiceovers by Andrew Lincoln, who played Rick,and Norman Reedus,who played Daryl in the original The Walking Dead series.
“Garden of Joy” gets a collaboration makeover!
The collaboration between Dead by Daylight and The Walking Dead also brings changes to the map. One of the in-game maps, “The Garden of Joy,” will receive a special collaboration version, featuring iconic settings from The Walking Dead recreated in a custom layout.
This special design will appear only when Rick or Michonne are present in a match on the Garden of Joy map. In the official footage, we can see a prison structure reminiscent of The Walking Dead Seasons 3 and 4, as well as the iconic “Don’t Open, Dead Inside” hospital doors.

In Dead by Daylight (DBD), there are three main ways to unlock characters:
- Purchase paid DLC
- Use Auric Cells, the in-game premium currency
- Use Iridescent Shards, the free in-game currency (only available for original DBD characters)
However, since Rick and Michonne are licensed characters and not original to DBD, they can only be unlocked by purchasing their paid DLC or using Auric Cells.
